The Spot Tavern is a well-known local bar in Lafayette, IN, catering to independent music fans, Purdue grad students, and long-time Lafayette residents. It regularly hosts live shows, parties, and community events, making it an ideal space for a Quantum Cavern transformation.
The Installation & Build-Up
• Installation took place on Sunday & Monday while the bar was closed.
• By Tuesday, the transformed space was open and accessible to regular guests, sparking curiosity and conversation before the main event.
• This extended presence built anticipation and increased word-of-mouth promotion leading up to our weekend shows.
• Social media influencers were contacted prior to installation and given an opportunity to collaborate
The Events
• Two ticketed shows on Friday & Saturday featured a mix of DJs and metal bands.
• Friday’s event began at 10 PM, while Saturday’s event started earlier at 8 PM. Both shows running til 3a
• Despite the rarity of charging $15 per ticket at a college bar, the demand was high—425 tickets sold (not counting guests or walk-ins).
Financial Impact
• Over $8,000 in bar sales on Friday and Saturday combined.
• The Spot Tavern does not serve food, meaning all revenue came from drinks and required snack sales under Indiana law.
• The transformed space and immersive experience kept customers engaged longer, leading to significantly higher-than-average bar sales.
